Philosophy/General Purpose: Ridge Family Center for Learning is an innovative plan to provide two programs at one school – an expanded preschool program for 3-5 year old children and an innovative elementary school program for kindergarten thru fifth grade. Enrollment in the preschool program does not guarantee enrollment in the elementary program. The preschool program uses the best practices identified by research to enhance a child’s readiness to enter school. Comprehensive programming is available through the employment of specialized staff including speech therapists, a social worker, a school psychologist, an occupational therapist, and a physical therapist. Subject to registration guidelines and eligibility requirements, a child attending as a 3 year old will be allowed to continue to attend the preschool program as a 4 year old.

Designed to be a positive learning experience for high school students and preschool children alike, the ratio of staff to children present at any one time is 15 students to 10 children. Parents are welcome to visit at any time. Parent and child orientation is February 17 (9:45-11:45 am; Room 108.)
