Reciprocal Borrowing/Interlibrary Loan

Your resident EGVPL card may be used at virtually any library in Illinois.  You will need to register with them first, however, and proper ID is required.  Your borrowed items may be returned at the Elk Grove Village Public Library.

If the Elk Grove Village Public Library does not have a book, magazine article, or some other item that you need, we can request it from another library and have it sent here for you to use.  (No VHS/DVD movies)

Computers

The Library has Internet accessible computers available in Adult Services and in Youth Services. Microsoft Office applications are also available. In addition, Youth Services has three Macintosh computers.

Internet Use

Computers in the Youth Services area allow filtered Internet access only.  All other computers within the library do not use filtering software.  Parental permission is required for Internet use for children 17 and under.  Please review the Internet Use Policy and the WiFi Use Policy.

Internet Safety Awareness

This site covers various aspects of Internet safety: Crime Prevention and Awareness; the Law; and Children's Awareness. A glossary, netiquette guide and links to other sites about safety on the Internet are also available on the Web site.

Meeting Rooms

A Meeting Room (capacity 200) and a Conference Room (capacity 18) are available for use by non-profit groups and organizations.  At least 50% of the group must be Elk Grove Village residents.  One meeting per group per month is permitted.  Use of the rooms is free unless food or beverages are served, in which case the Meeting Room requires a $100 deposit ($75 refunded if left clean) and the Conference Room fee is $25.

An additional Group Study room (capacity 6) is available through the Periodicals Desk in Adult Services.
