Wii Byte & Bite
Thursday, October 16: 6:30 - 8 pm
"Byte" into Wii:
Nintendo's popular platform for fun action games. Also Bite into our
Pizza, Soda, and Cookie competition. You can vote on your favorites.
For 6th grade
& up. Online registration, limited to 20, begins September 6 at 9 am

Create Your Own Computer Game
Fridays: October 17, 24, 31 & November 5
Learn to
use the SCRATCH Program to design a simple Game. This will be
a three-week Workshop plus a final "Show-&-Tell" party to present
completed projects and enjoy treats.
For grades 6 - 12. Online registration, limited to 10, begins Saturday,
September 6 at 9
am.

Chess Instruction and Tournament
Classes: Saturday, October 18, 25 & November 1: 3:30
- 4:30 pm
Tournament: November 8: 1:30 - 3:00 pm
CheckMates Chess Academy will be teaching chess to all levels.
Beginners will learn how to play, complete with all official tournament
rules. Advanced players will learn strategies and fun alternative
chess games. The Tournament is open to all skill levels and everyone
will leave with a prize.
Online registration for classes, limited to 25/class, begins
Saturday, September 6 at 9 am.
Online registration for the Tournament, limited to 60, with a
waiting list of 15, begins Saturday, October 25 at 9 am.
(Students who have not attended the class, but know how to play chess,
will also be able to join the Tournament by registering online).

Craft: Picture Boards for Your Locker
Thursday, November 6: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Attend a fun
craft with library staff. Be sure to bring a selection of wallet
sized pictures. Samples of the craft will be on display in Youth
Services starting Saturday, August 30.
