Seniors aged 62 and older are exempt from overdues fines.
Your resident EGVPL library card may be used at virtually any library in Illinois. You will need to register with them first, however, and proper ID is required. Your borrowed items may be returned at the Elk Grove Village Public Library.
If the Elk Grove Village Public Library does not have a book, magazine article, or some other item that you need, we can request it from another library and have it sent here for you to use. (No DVD movies).
The Library has Internet accessible computers available in Adult Services and in Youth Services. Microsoft Office (2002 and 2007) applications are also available including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher. In addition, Youth Services has (2) two game computers.
Printing is available in both Adult and Youth Computer Labs: 10¢ per black/white page and 35¢ per color page. Wireless printing is also available for laptop users connected to the Library's free WiFi. The cost of printing is the same as listed above.
Computers in the Youth Services area allow filtered Internet access only. All other computers within the library do not use filtering software. Parental permission is required for Internet use for children 17 and under. Please review the Internet Use Policy and the WiFi Use Policy.
This site covers various aspects of Internet safety: Crime Prevention and Awareness, the Law and Children's Awareness. A glossary, "netiquette" guide and links to other sites about safety on the Internet are also available on the Website.
A Meeting Room (capacity 200) and a Conference Room (capacity 18) are available for use by non-profit groups and organizations. The contact person for the group must have an Elk Grove Village Public Library card and at least 50% of the group must be Elk Grove Village residents. One meeting per group per month is permitted. Use of the rooms is free unless food or beverages are served, in which case the Large Meeting Room and Conference Room require a non-refundable fee of $25.
An additional Group Study room (capacity 6) is available through the Periodicals Desk in Adult Services.
