Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is a volunteer group that raises funds for the Elk Grove Village Public Library through its used book sales. The Friends use the money generated from these sales to sponsor Library programs and community events. They also help purchase equipment, furnishings, and other materials for the Library including:
- Bronze sculptures
- Countries of the world flags
- Hearing loop
- Light-Brite wall
- Meeting room furniture
- Outdoor digital sign
Book Donations
The Friends of the Library accept book and audio-visual donations. Donated items are sold in the Friends' pop-up book sales. For more information, call us at (847) 439-0447.
Used Book Sales
Stop in the Library during regular hours to buy gently used, discarded, and donated books, DVDs, music CDs, and more at the Friends' used book sale located in the lobby. Prices are as marked. Please put your payment in the blue cash box that's located in the used book sale area.
Membership
For a sense of contributing to the community plus fellowship and fun, join the Friends. Membership to the Friends of the Elk Grove Village Library is open to all individuals and costs:
- $1 Student
- $5 Individual
- $10 Family
- $25 Patron
- $100 Lifetime individual
The membership year runs from May 1 - April 30. Dues paid in March and April will be effective May 1st of that year. Stop by the Circulation Desk to fill out an application form. You may also download and print a form, then mail it and your membership fee to:
