Interlibrary loans will be conducted in accordance with the Illinois Library and Information Network Interlibrary Loan Code (ILLINET). The library will first utilize its own collection before initiating an interlibrary loan request.
ILL Borrowing Guidelines for Patrons
- Holders of valid Elk Grove Village Public Library cards in good standing will be eligible for Interlibrary Loan service.
- Materials obtained by the Elk Grove Village Public Library must be returned to the Elk Grove Village Library.
- Loan periods are established by the lending library. In the event materials are lost or damaged, the lending library will determine the replacement and processing fees. The patron is responsible for all fees for damaged or lost materials charged by the lending library. In all other matters, the rules and regulations of the Elk Grove Village Public Library will apply.
- Demand by Elk Grove Village cardholders and the condition of material will determine whether any item will be loaned at the time requested.
- Renewal requests must be made prior to the due date. The decision to renew is at the discretion of the interlibrary loan staff.
