Polaris Migration

In the coming months, the Library will be switching to a new circulation software which will provide a more user-friendly and customizable experience for all. This will be a massive undertaking for Library staff, so please bear with us as we become accustomed to the new system.

During the migration, there will be a few temporary changes to normal functionality of our online catalog. This includes the inability to access your library account, renew items, put items on hold, etc.

This page is designed to provide as much information as possible for staff and library users during this period. Check back here for future updates and what to expect during each step of the transition.

What to Expect

December 1: Ordering Stopped

We will be pausing the ordering of new items until we go live in February. We are happy to check nearby libraries' catalogs for new release availability or recommend other titles you might like.

We will continue to add new items that were ordered before this date.

December 29: Data Transfer

New items will no longer be added to the catalog. Addition of new items to the library catalog will commence once we go live in February.

January 3: Transition Prep

No holds placed. Holds that have been placed before January 3 will be processed and available as normal.

January 31 - February 6: Transition Week

Beginning January 31, our old circulation software will go offline.

  • We will be unable to check returned items in. We will extend loan periods until we are able to check in items again.
  • You may still check out materials, but items must be brought to the Circulation Desk. The self check machines will be unavailable.

Also starting on January 31, our online catalog will transfer to new software.

  • The online catalog will show inaccurate availability. This may continue for up to two weeks after we go live.
  • You will be unable to login to your account until the transfer is complete.

On February 6, our databases, including Hoopla Digital and the Libby app, will be down. We anticipate they will be back up and running on February 7 after we go live.

February 7: Go Live!

The Library will open later at 10am on this day to give staff time to prepare for the switch to our new circulation software and to troubleshoot any issues.
