The Elk Grove Village Public Library offers a variety of programs, services, and materials especially for older adults in the community. Take a look and see how we can assist you.
Assistive Services
Large-Print Books
The library has nearly 10,000 large-print books, both fiction and nonfiction. In addition to large-print books, the library has an extensive collection of audio books.

Motorized Scooter
A battery-powered scooter is available for use in the library for those who need abulatory assistance.
Optelec Reader
The library has an easy-to-use Optelec machine that magnifies printed material. Use it to read the newspaper, bills, and more.
Talking Books
Patrons with visual limitations can sign up at the library for the free Illinois State Library Talking Book and Braille Service that provides a digital player and audio books by mail.

Book Discussion Group
A book discussion group led by a library staff member meets at the library on the first Tuesday of each month.

Help and Instruction
Need help using email, the internet, or downloading eBooks to your device? Patrons can make an appointment for a one-hour one-on-one training session with a librarian.

Home Delivery
For those who are unable to leave their homes, a library staff member can deliver books or other materials to Elk Grove Village residents. Contact Chris Mika at (847) 725-2160 to request Home Delivery.
